Why are dried flowers used for occasion decorations?
For centuries, flowers have been thought to symbolise and represent many feelings and emotions, and usually ones that aren't always easy to communicate directly. Whether dried or fresh, flowers are essential for many occasions as they help to send messages of love, gratitude, support, care, and remembrance, and therefore make ideal natural decorations for a special event.
These are some of the reasons many opt for dried flowers over fresh for momentous occasions:
Dried flowers are cost effective
Dried arrangements tend to be filled with inexpensive grass stems which help to bulk out the bouquets while adding great texture and pretty neutral tones. As the stems don't need to be kept looking fresh, transporting them can be much easier, too, which can often cut down on cost.
Dried flowers are more sustainable
Dried flowers and grasses do not spoil and hardly ever need to be replaced. Their longevity means they produce significantly less waste, as the flowers can be easily kept long after the occasion has occurred.
Dried flowers are very versatile
If properly cared for (see our dried flower care guide How to Care for Your Dried Flowers for more info), each bouquet or arrangement will stay looking almost as vibrant and beautiful as the day it was created. Due to the drying process, each stem is made much more sturdy so if you decide to take your arrangement apart after the event, you can easily repurpose the stems into smaller arrangements, decorations, or even use them in crafts.

There is very little limit to what occasions we can create bespoke bouquets for, but below are some of the more popular events we have created arrangements for:

What sort of arrangements can be ordered?
We like to let our bespoke customers lead with what sort of arrangements they'd like, as every customer and every occasion will be different. We ensure we keep each custom bouquet and arrangement order completely unique and as close to your vision as possible, but if you need some ideas on what sort of arrangements we can offer, our current dried flower edit should give an idea. For weddings, you might be looking for bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, hair accessories, buttonholes, table favours and decorations, and even bunting and aisle decorations. For birthdays, the focus is likely going to be more on table and wall decorations, bunting, and sign foliage. If the occasion is a funeral or wake, we can offer wreaths, coffin sprays, or traditional table decorations.

How do I order a bespoke arrangement?
The first step to ordering your arrangements is to reach out to our wonderful team at The Norfolk Flower Room via email: norfolkflowerroom@lisaangel.co.uk.
All that is needed at this stage is a brief outline of what you're looking for. This outline should include the arrangement style (e.g. a bouquet, hair accessory, table decoration etc.), the colour scheme, the size and scale of each arrangement, how many arrangements you'd like, and what occasion these arrangements are for.
Once our team have received your initial enquiry, they may request inspiration imagery and suggest some arrangement styles and flower types we already have in stock. We can supply samples if required, but this will lengthen the process of creating the arrangements due to needing to order the stems in. Once your bespoke order has been informally agreed upon, our team will provide you with a proposal and a Google form which will then help to explain a breakdown of the costs for payment.
The Norfolk Flower Room will then provide you with a proposed date of completion, and forward you any details about delivery or collection of your arrangements.
