RETAIL MANAGER (12 MONTH MATERNITY COVER)

Lower Goat Lane. (40 hours per week)

The Retail Manager will be responsible for driving and growing their business; getting the balance right between commercial, visual and operational expectation. They will have a genuine passion for our brand and be capable of managing and inspiring a highly engaged team to maximise sales while putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Main responsibilities

Commerical

  • Successfully identify risks and opportunities on a daily basis by analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales
  • Proactively seek, anticipate and respond to shifting trends and new market opportunities
  • Use initiative to come up with new and innovative ideas to keep our brand offering exciting
  • Take an entrepreneurial approach to formulate and implement a commercial business plan aiming to maximise sales and profitability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external departments and stakeholders
  • Set clear goals and objectives for your team to drive all store KPIs
  • Embrace multichannel development by driving in store web sales

Operations

  • Responsible for all of the store processes, such as admin duties, cash handling, banking, payroll and scheduling rotas
  • Constantly review productivity; challenging scheduling across the store to ensure operational efficiency
  • Ensuring the store meets all health and safety requirements as well as adhering to all company policies
  • Responsible for driving low stockloss and markdown through team training and a robust stockloss action plan
  • Efficient operation of stock management; including replenishment, stock levels, receiving/processing delivery and stock room layout

Visual

  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are met at all times
  • Comfortably challenge the commerciality of merchandised products
  • Identify store specific visual opportunities and propose and implement creative solutions with support of the Visual Merchandising Manager
  • Organising and implementing special promotions, displays and events

Team development

  • Actively build your teams; recruiting, training and developing as well as identifying and addressing performance concerns in line with company policy
  • Create a learning culture by delivering consistent communication, through regular on-the-spot feedback as well as reviews and appraisals
  • Ensure the wellbeing of your team and customers alike, creating an environment where there is a sense of belonging, care and honesty
  • Pro-active with your own development, seeking out all development opportunities

Customer service

  • Show a genuine passion for our brand and customers
  • Proactively seek and identify ways to improve the customer experience, always looking to exceed expectations
  • Encourage and inspire the team to drive sales and service by leading by example, dealing with sales transactions as and when required
  • Be able to solve customer queries confidently and efficiently, going above and beyond for our customers
  • Carry out any other duties that may be required by the company from time to time

The successful Retail Manager will have the following attributes:

  • Be comfortable using computerised equipment such as tills
  • Be reliable and trustworthy
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • Able to make decisions confidently
  • Able to plan and organise effectively
  • Effective time management
