We are recruiting for a new position within our warehouse team, to support the management and help deliver a high level of service to our customers and other areas of the business.
Lisa Angel Ltd. are a successful and fast growing company, with strong online, retail and wholesale outlets. We specialise in gifts and accessories, and have a number of units and warehouses in Rackheath, where this position will be based.
We operate seven days a week, with extended hours at Christmas, and therefore expect any candidates to be available for full time hours and all sorts of shifts.
This position would present a great opportunity for someone with management or supervisory experience in a similar environment, who is looking for a new challenge at a growing company. Warehouse and retail experience would be desirable, as well as a proven ability to manage staffing, delegation, and motivation for a team of staff.
The Assistant Warehouse Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective day to day running of the warehouse operations.
They will take control of maximising efficiency within the warehouse, dealing with staffing issues, making key decisions on deliveries, processing orders for online customers, retail outlets and wholesale customers, and internal stock requests.
They will support the Warehouse Manager in carrying out operational tasks and overseeing the delegation of jobs within the Warehouse, as well as the training and management of individual staff members.
Monitoring and responding to stock deliveries in the warehouse and raising any isues with management and Goods In staff.
Assisting in managing staff rotas, holidays and absence, and reporting issues to the manager and human resources department.
Working with the Warehouse Manager to plan staffing for future events, sales, and peak trade.
Problem solving any issues which arise relating to stock and deliveries.
Assisting with the planning and execution of annual stock takes, as well as analysing the results.
Recording and analysing the use of consumable products within the Warehouse and ensuring that stocks are kept at a suitable level.
Delegating and assigning tasks to individual members of the team.
Dealing with any day to day health and safety issues and carrying out periodic safety inspections across the warehouse units in line with company standards and legislation.
Working with the Personalisation, Customer Service, Retail and Wholesale departments to ensure that their needs are met.
Driving performance and motivating staff to achieve the company goals and stay on top of warehouse orders.
Interviewing and recruitment of staff for peak trade at Christmas, as well as carrying out staff inductions and training.
Completing annual appraisals, probationary reviews, and giving performance feedback to members of the Warehouse team.
Holding regular meetings with the manager to give feedback on operational performance and opportunities for improvement within the warehouse.
Skills & attributes:
Previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with proven results during busy peak periods.
Fully flexible and willing to get involved in every aspect of the day to day operations.
3+ years of management experience, preferably in a similar environment.
Full, clean driving license and reach truck experience (desirable).
Hard working and dependable.
Experience with recruitment and/or training and managing a team of staff.
