Finance and Payroll Assistant

Full time (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday)

Rackheath, Norwich

As our name suggests, Lisa Angel created Lisa Angel Ltd. The company has grown from a kitchen table in 2004 to a multi-channel global business. It has 2 retail outlets, a global website, is a major partner to and has a growing wholesale business spreading the Lisa Angel brand, products and philosophy further. The company recently won the Broadland & South Norfolk Business Growth award for 2022.

Due to this expansive growth, there is a requirement to extend the finance team. The finance and payroll assistant will work closely with the Head of Finance to achieve the smooth, timely and accurate provision of financial, payroll and accounting information to produce monthly management accounts.

Main Responsibilities

Sales & Income Reconciliations 

  • Assist with the day-to-day reconciliations between website, shop sales and the various platforms such as Stripe, PayPal, Etsy, Not on the High Street and Sage Pay.

Monthly Accounts Duties

  • Prepare and post the month end accounting journals including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation
  • Review the monthly accounts with the Head of Finance and provide explanations for variances. 
  • Oversee the Balance Sheet ensuring all the relevant control accounts are reconciled
  • VAT
  • Reconcile the quarterly vat return in preparation for submission to HMRC under the guidance of the Head of Finance 
  • Payroll
  • Assist the Head of Finance with the monthly payroll reconciliations and ledger journal postings 
  • Assist with pension declarations via NEST and timely payment of pension funds 
  • Reconcile and set up the PAYE payments via the bank
  • Payroll knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential to the role

Survey and Data collections

  • Complete and submit data surveys as required by the Office for National Statistics
  • Budget Preparation
  • Assist the Head of Finance with budget analysis and forecasting

Ad hoc duties

  • Assist with supplier payments
  • Preparing adhoc analysis for businesses requirements
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with implementing new financial procedures and controls
  • Manage the “accounts” mailbox and post during holiday periods

Skills and attributes:

Technical attributes considered for the role

  • At least 2 years’ practical experience within a similar finance role
  • Experience of producing monthly accounts and journals 
  • Familiarity with undertaking Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Good Excel knowledge 
  • Xero Finance knowledge desirable but not essential 
  • AAT or equivalent accounting qualification desirable but not essential

Warehouse Supervisor

Full time (40 hours per week, Monday-Sunday), maternity cover

Rackheath, Norwich

The warehouse supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective running of all aspects of our warehouse in Rackheath. They will help to manage the warehouse staff and help them to achieve our daily targets and deadlines, whilst overseeing daily operations across retail orders, goods in, stock control and web orders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for all aspects of the effective supervision, training & development and health, safety and welfare of warehouse staff.
  • Securing the warehouse at all times.
  • Ensuring effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management.
  • Organise and maintain inventory and storage area.
  • Implement the company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within the warehouse.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee’s performance
  • Maintain all necessary documents and records.
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.
  • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Occasionally making deliveries to our stores and travelling to wholesale shows across the country.
  • And any other duties that may be required by the Company from time to time.

Customer Services Manager

Full time (40 hours per week, Monday-Sunday)

Rackheath, Norwich

The Customer Services Manager is responsible for managing the Customer Services team to deliver customer happiness across multiple websites and sales channels in an effective and efficient manner.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain our industry leading feedback score on Feefo, Google & Trustpilot.
  • Maintain a culture of “going above and beyond” for our customers.
  • Investigate and resolve escalated customers enquiries, which may be complex or long-standing, that have been passed on by Customer Service Assistants
  • Reporting to different departments on various KPIs including level of customer service, feedback, returns & error rates. 
  • Lead and supervise the Customer Services team with the support of the Customer Services Supervisors.
  • Responsible for recruiting and completing probation/performance reviews for the Customer Services team
  • Training of the customer service team and develop the team to ensure they are able to deliver 5* Customer Service.
  • Continually look at ways to develop and improve customer service procedures, policies and standards for the Company, looking for efficiencies, standardisation and new ways of working to ultimately improve workflow and streamline.
  • Learn about Lisa Angel’s products and keep up to date with changes
  • Keep ahead of developments in customer service by reading relevant journals, research, going to meetings and attending courses/conferences.
  • And any other duties that may be required by the Company from time to time.

  • Previous Customer Services Manager experience across different websites and sales channels

Managing Director

Full time (40 hours per week)

The Managing Director will oversee all business operations, performance of the Company and people. They will be responsible for guiding the Company in the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission and long-term goals in line with the Company’s Strategy.

We are looking for an experienced Managing Director who has successfully implemented an online growth strategy in a relevant omnichannel retailer.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop an overall strategy for the Company that delivers sustainable profitable growth, communicate this strategy to all staff and ensure appropriate policies are developed to meet the Company’s mission and objectives. 
  • Prepare and implement annual business plans, work with the Senior Management Team to oversee their implementation, monitor progress against these plans to ensure that the company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.
  • Build and maintain an effective Senior Management Team to ensure they are motivated, trained and developed to deliver the Company’s mission and objectives.  Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of the Senior Management team providing guidance and motivation to drive performance.
  • Interview for senior positions within the organisation and sign off offers of employment.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to seek opportunities, increase efficiencies, implement new processes across the business to achieve the Company’s strategy.
  • Analyse opportunities for growth to drive profitability and ensure that the Company remains at the forefront in the industry by applying the most cost-effective methods and approaches.  Ensure the Company provides leading edge products and retains its competitive edge while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Develop and implement a solid eCommerce strategy that drives growth, setting KPI’s and achieving strategic and commercial results.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, Head of Marketing and Developers to drive eCommerce forward.  Oversee all aspects of eCommerce including business planning, content strategy, promotional campaigns, online marketing, website design, customer service, web analytics and web technologies.
  • Oversee the company’s financial performance, full responsibility of the P&L, preparation of the annual report, investments and other business ventures and ensure their approval by the Owners/Directors.  Report Company results to the Owners/Directors at regular intervals.
  • Set Company budgets and forecasts alongside the Owners/Accountants.
  • Prepare, gain acceptance, and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met, that revenue flows are maximised and that fixed costs are minimised.
  • Assume full accountability for the Owners/Directors for all company operations.  
  • Communicate and maintain effective relationships with major customers, business partners, suppliers, key decision makers and other stakeholders to drive the business forward.
  • Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other key contacts to secure for it the most effective contract terms.
  • Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations including product compliance in line with Global Standards.

Required skills:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing an ecommerce organisation at Managing Director level and has successfully implemented an online growth strategy.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing strategies and business plans
  • Relevant and proven industry experience within the retail and e-commerce sectors 
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, measures of performance and corporate laws
  • Strong understanding of management best practices
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Good motivator of people
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
