Commercial Retail Area Manager

Location: Ideally Norwich based (or within easy reach)

As the Commercial Retail Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all Lisa Angel stores, ensuring their profitability, operational efficiency, and alignment with the brand's high standards of customer experience and store presentation. This role is integral to maintaining the attention to detail that Lisa Angel is known for, driving commercial success, and supporting store managers and teams. The role offers the opportunity to progress to a Head of Retail position as the business expands further.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Performance & Profitability

  • Maximise sales: Ensure each store meets and exceeds its sales forecasts by implementing action plans, setting KPI’s and monitoring performance.
  • Profitability control: Monitor staffing levels to ensure stores are efficiently run, avoiding overstaffing while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Commercial analysis: Regularly review sales data, cost controls, and stock management to optimise performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Budget management: Ensure all store expenditure is necessary and justified, keeping costs within budget and driving store-level profitability.
  • Stock loss prevention and management: Develop and implement clear stock loss targets for each store, with the goal of minimising loss across all locations, especially focusing on high-loss areas. Lead a thorough investigation into stock loss patterns, ensuring corrective measures are taken. Explore product tagging as a strategy to reduce stock loss and improve inventory security across stores.

Customer Experience & Brand Standards

  • Maintain brand integrity: Act as Lisa Angel’s "eye" to ensure all stores meet the highest visual merchandising (VM) and operational standards, as per the brand’s detailed aesthetic.
  • Uphold customer experience: Ensure that all stores deliver an exceptional customer experience, reflective of Lisa Angel's values and expectations.
  • VM and store design liaison: Work closely with the Store Design/VM team to ensure stores remain visually inspiring, on-brand, and commercially functional.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and inspire: Provide support, leadership, and clear direction to store managers, empowering them to run their stores successfully and independently.
  • Support and develop store teams: Be the point of contact for store managers, addressing their operational concerns and ensuring they have the tools and products needed to achieve targets.
  • Staff development: Create a succession plan for store teams, identifying potential leaders and supporting their growth through training and mentoring.
  • Employee engagement: Encourage team motivation and recognise outstanding performance across all stores, addressing performance concerns when necessary.

Operational Excellence

  • Store visits: Conduct regular store visits to assess operational standards, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that feedback is actioned.
  • Health & Safety and compliance: Ensure all stores meet the required standards for security and health & safety regulations, focusing specifically on compliance with loss prevention policies, shrinkage reduction, and other safety measures.
  • Collaboration with head office: Liaise with the marketing, product, and e-commerce teams to ensure that stores receive marketing materials, product deliveries, and promotional assets in a timely and accurate manner.

Strategic Growth

  • Expansion planning: Play a key role in supporting the opening of new stores in 2025/26, working closely with the senior team to ensure smooth launches that reflect Lisa Angel’s vision and commercial goals.
  • Retail strategy: Work with senior management to support and implement the overall retail strategy, driving store profitability and the brand's wider growth objectives.

Requirements:

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Previous area/regional management experience in retail (preferably in lifestyle or homeware/fashion sectors).
  • Strong understanding of commercial drivers such as sales analysis, cost management, inventory control, and stock loss prevention.
  • Proven track record of driving store profitability and improving operational standards.
  • Experience with visual merchandising and store design standards, ensuring stores are consistently brand-aligned.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to support and develop store managers and their teams.
  • Ability to balance operational needs with maintaining a high standard of store presentation and customer experience.
  • Commercially minded with strong analytical skills to monitor sales, stock loss, and shrinkage data, using it to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills: able to liaise effectively between store teams and head office, ensuring clear communication and action on key issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to uphold brand standards across multiple stores.

 

Location: Ideally Norwich-based (or within easy reach) with regular travel to all store locations (Norwich, Southwold, Bury St Edmunds, and future sites) - however being further afield will be considered for the right person.

Store Manager

Location: Chantry Place (Norwich)

The Store Manager will be responsible for driving business and growing their store; getting the balance right between commercial, visual and operational expectations. They will have a genuine passion for our brand and be capable of managing and inspiring a highly engaged team to maximise sales while putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Main Responsibilities 

Commercial

  • Successfully identify risks and opportunities on a daily basis by analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales 
  • Proactively seek, anticipate and respond to shifting trends and new market opportunities
  • Use initiative to come up with new and innovative ideas to keep our brand offering exciting
  • Take an Entrepreneurial approach to formulate and implement a commercial business plan aiming to maximise sales and profitability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external departments and stakeholders
  • Set clear goals and objectives for your team to drive all store KPIs 
  • Embrace multichannel development by driving in store web sales

Operations

  • Responsible for all of the store processes, such as admin duties, cash handling, banking, payroll and scheduling rotas 
  • Constantly review productivity; challenging scheduling across the store to ensure operational efficiency
  • Ensuring the store meets all health and safety requirements as well as adhering to all company policies
  • Responsible for driving low stockloss and markdown through team training and a robust stockloss action plan
  • Efficient operation of stock management; including replenishment, stock levels, receiving/processing delivery and stock room layout
  • Responsible for Norwich Stores Warehouse (NSW), accepting deliveries and preparing stock for all Norwich stores

Visual

  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are met at all times
  • Comfortably challenge the commerciality of merchandised products 
  • Identify store specific visual opportunities and propose and implement creative solutions with support of the Visual Merchandising Manager.
  • Organising and implementing special promotions, displays and events

Team development

  • Actively build your teams; recruiting, training and developing as well as identifying and addressing performance concerns in line with company policy

Warehouse Operative

Location: Rackheath

We are looking for a full time warehouse team member, on a temporary contract running until 23rd December 2024.

40 hour contract working Sunday - Thursday each week. Typical shift patterns will be 9am-5:30pm on Weekdays, and 8am-4:30pm on Sunday.

Due to our location having your own reliable transport is essential.

We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to work in our growing Wholesale and Retail areas, helping to ensure the smooth dispatch of all orders within required time targets, and help to maintain the organisation of stock within the warehouse.

You will be responsible for preparing and dispatching large orders to our stores and wholesale customers, by picking, packing and repackaging our jewellery and gift items. This role would suit someone who can work accurately and at a quick pace, and has a good understanding of jewellery products and homeware.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all sales orders are prepared in accordance with customer needs and specification
  • Checking, labelling and packing all manufactured goods with the correct information according to the legal requirements
  • Maintaining a neat and well organised workplace
  • Adhering to and carrying out the company’s health and safety standards
  • Packing products effectively and efficiently
  • Ensuring all orders are dispatched within the lead times as agreed
  • Accurately logging all dispatches made by the Company.
  • And any other duties that may be required by the Company from time to time.

No experience is necessary as full training will be given. This role would suit anyone who has experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, or has some experience of working with stock of any kind.
